A team of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Works and Public Assets of the Republic of Sierra Leone recently conducted a Phase Two joint measured works exercise on the ongoing construction of the new chancery building in Accra, Ghana.
The delegation, led by Emmanuel M. Sandi, Director of Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with the High Commissioner of the Sierra Leone High Commission, H.E. Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, and the CEO of JULAK General Enterprise in Accra, Mr. Richard Donkor.
During the meeting, the CEO updated the team on the project's progress, stating that it is approximately 75% complete, with only finishing work remaining.
The team commended JULAK for the good work done so far and emphasized the need for quality and durability in the construction.
Discussions focused on procurement, finance, and observations were made during the visit.
A site tour was conducted, and the project's technical specifications were reviewed.
The new chancery building will feature various offices on the three floors, including administrative offices for the High Commissioner, Head of Chancery, and other staff members.
The Government of Sierra Leone solely funds the project.
