H.E. KAISAMBA MAKES COURTESY VISIT ON THE AMBASSADOR OF BRAZIL IN GHANA.
The High Commissioner Designate of Sierra Leone in Ghana, His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, visited Her Excellency Mariana Madeira, the Ambassador of Brazil in Ghana, accredited to Sierra Leone.
Both Heads of missions expressed delight in meeting and pledged their country’s commitment to supporting each other in different areas of development.
Her Excellency Mariana Madeira welcomed her colleague to the Brazilian embassy and stated that she looks forward to a greater exchange of knowledge and cooperation between the two countries.
She highlighted areas of interest in which Brazil may be interested citing, cotton production, technology, airport Management, and services.
Madam Madeira informed High Commissioner Kaisamaba of how her country is currently working with the Ghana Cocoa industry which she says is a unifying commodity.
Brazil, she mentioned is working towards setting up a research institute that will promote projects and investments they tend to undertake as they have already begun undertaking such production activities in the farming of Cashew and cassava with food stocking under the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (BCA).
The government of Brazil she noted, is aimed at expanding in Africa with a focus on food production.
Her Excellency Mariana Madeira informed H.E. Kaisamba that Brazil intends to bring a Trade Mission to Ghana in January 2025 and requested that he invite businesses in Sierra Leone to participate.
She concluded by reminding High Commissioner Kaisamba of an early appeal made by the Brazilian government for Sierra Leone to submit a Declaration of Commitment to join the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty.
In his response, High Commissioner Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality received and talked about the strong bilateral ties that have existed between Sierra Leone and Brazil over the years.
With Sierra Leone and Brazil having come a long way, H.E. Kaisamba encouraged his colleague to continue in that light and extended thanks for Brazil’s support during the Ebola and Covid 19 outbreaks.
H.E. thanked her for her government’s thoughts on Africa’s development while promising Sierra Leone’s support ‘.
High Commissioner Kaisamba echoed President Julius Madda Bio’s commitment to ensuring that Sierra Leone becomes a food-sufficient country through the Feed Salone Initiative which forms part of the government’s big five (5) game changers of his government during his second term.
