SLHC ACCRA, BIDS FAREWELL TO HIGH COMMISSIONER ANDERSON
The Sierra Leone High Commission staff in Accra, Ghana, organized a surprise farewell event for their outgoing High Commissioner, Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson (PhD) who served the mission since August 2018.
Held at the residence of High Commissioner Anderson, the event of appreciation and farewell brought together the mission staff, colleague Heads of Mission representing different countries in Ghana, family members, and close friends who shared their experiences working with Dr. Anderson wishes her well in her new assignment as Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Türkiye Welcoming guests at the event, the Head of Chancery Joseph Spencer Thornton thanked everyone for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the program while keeping it top secret throughout its planning. He described High Commissioner Anderson as a team player and a dear boss whose leadership qualities will be greatly missed by all the Sierra Leone High Commission staff and close friends in Ghana.
Statements from representatives of her colleague Heads of Mission, doctors attached to the Korlebu Teaching Hospital where many Sierra Leoneans undergo treatment when in Ghana, Sierra Leonean pastors in Ghana, and close friends, echoed H.E. Anderson’s kind personality, with a cheerful spirit and one that treats everyone equally regardless of their positions.
Representatives of both the diplomatic community and local staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission stated their delight in having worked under Dr. Anderson’s leadership with love and encouragement. They further spoke about how she would be dearly missed and wished her the best in her new assignment as she continues to serve Sierra Leone.
Responding, High Commissioner Anderson expressed joy over what she described as an excess of love, shown to her by her staff and loved ones, surprisingly.
According to her, since she was appointed in July 2018 as High Commissioner of Sierra Leone in Ghana, also covering Togo and Burkina Faso, she made it a key obligation to operate under the instructions of her boss, President Julius Maada Bio, and for the people of Sierra Leone.
She thanked the staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission for their love, and understanding, commitment to work during her diplomatic tour in Ghana and appreciated God for seeing her through the years.
Speaking to her colleague Heads of Mission who were in attendance, High Commissioner Anderson described them as family, noting that the love, care, and concern they all share for each other is beyond diplomacy.
To the Sierra Leonean pastors, and Ghanian doctors at the Korlebu Teaching Hospital who continue to support the work of the High Commission in their different capacities, Dr. Anderson expressed gratitude to them and pleaded that they continue to always be supportive of the mission.
She vowed to maintain ties with everyone who contributed to her excellent performance while serving in Accra and promised to do her best when she resumed her diplomatic tour in Ankara, Türkiye.
The outgoing High Commissioner of the Sierra Leone High Commission in Accra, Ghana, Francess Virginia Anderson (PhD) concluded her statement by admonishing all staff to put Sierra Leone first in the line of their duties and to always remain professional.
