High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Accra, Ghana Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson (PhD) on Friday 17th May, 2021 joined colleague Heads of Mission in Ghana to welcome the President of Senegal H.E Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.
Ghana’s Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister Shirley Ayoko Botchwey, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps in Ghana, Members of the Senegalese Community in Ghana all formed part of the receiving team at the Presidential villa of the Kotoka International Airport.
The Senegalese President believed to be the current youngest in Africa was in Ghana after a similar visit to Nigeria, where he met with his counterpart President Bola Tinubu.
Both leaders exchanged pleasantries and promised to further deepen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ghana’s President Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo admonished his Senegalese counterpart to use his goodwill within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to help in resolving disputes with Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali.
The visit of the Senegalese President in Accra, Ghana, was climaxed with a lunch in his honour at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House.
