The Acting Auditor General of Audit service Sierra Leone, Aziz Kamara has on Wednesday held an audit preparedness meeting with High Commissioner Francess Virginia Anderson and Diplomatic Staff of the High Commission of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Accra, Ghana.This, according to him, is part of a usual audit work plan for the year 2024 for high commissions and embassies to be audited, and it began in the year 2021.Speaking during the meeting after being introduced by the first secretary, Philip Brima Kabba, Mr. Aziz said he is happy engaging the High Commissioner and Staff, informing them about the coming in of officials of the Audit Service that will be coming during the course of the year to have missions edited.He admonished the team to be in great preparedness while appealing that auditors should not be seen as the police or critic, adding that all they do is look at operations carefully and make meaningful recommendations.The importance of following recommendations at the end of any audit can not be overemphasized, Mr. Aziz said while urging the head of mission and her team to ensure everything is put in place correctly as required by the audit team.He concluded by asking all to work together for the good of our country, Sierra Leone.Responding, Her Excellency, Francess Virginia Anderson PhD, thank the acting Auditor General for his visit, and described the need for an audit preparedness meeting as a great step.She promised on the part of her mission in Accra to be cooperative throughout the entire auditing and continuously work to promote Sierra Leone.The meeting was attended by the first secretaries, Information attaché and the Financial Attaché.
