His Excellency Ambassador Hadera Admasu, Ethiopia Ambassador to Ghana, accredited to Sierra Leone has paid a courtesy visit on the Sierra Leone High Commissioner, Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson.
According to Ambassador Hadera Admasu, the reason for his visit was to familiarize himself with his colleague and ensure both Heads of Mission continue to promote fruitful bilateral ties between the two countries.
He revealed he was thrilled to be an Ambassador accredited to Sierra Leone, and looks forward to presenting Letters of Credence to His Excellency, Dr Julius Maada Bio. He emphasized there is a need for Africans to work together for the good of the Continent.
Ambassador Hadera Admasu, Ethiopian Ambassador to Ghana, also used the occasion to plead with his colleague to admonish Sierra Leone and other African nations to support Arkebe Oqubay of Ethiopia, who is Senior Minister and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as the only African that has been nominated.
High Commissioner Francess Virginia Anderson was elated by the visit, citing that the longstanding bilateral ties between both countries continue to be enjoyed.
She was optimistic that if Africans believe in themselves and work by consolidating the goodies, Africa would be unbeatable. Madam Anderson also described Africans as resilient people living in a very beautiful continent, citing the effects of COVID-19 on Africans is not as great as other continents.
On the candidature of the Arkebe Oqubay of Ethiopia for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), High Commissioner Francess Virginia Anderson said there is always a diplomatic channel to handle issues of such nature and that she is optimistic as Africans the support needed will definitely be provided.
She concluded by assuring her colleague of her mission’s support whenever the need arises.
